Touch Contacts – Updates Related Contact Records on Account Update

Automatically update Salesforce Contact records when their related Account is updated

Touch Contacts makes it easier for email marketing integrations to work as expected. Often email marketing integrations with Salesforce synchronise lead and contact information only when leads and contacts are edited.

A frustration of this with Salesforce Contacts is that when information on an account is updated, the updates do not sync to the integration because the contact record has not been edited.

Touch Contacts App addresses this frustration. Whenever an account is edited/updated, an update operation is issued to all the related contacts. No changes are made to the contacts, just the equivalent to an edit/save operation.

The app works as follows:

• Every account update triggers their related contacts to also be touched (updated)
• All business process automation, triggers and validation rules related to the contact fire when the contact is touched (updated)
• Person Accounts are excluded from the touch operation as the last modified date of the contact record element of the Person Account is updated whenever the person account is updated.

Touch Contacts makes it easier for email marketing integrations to work properly when Contacts should be refreshed when Accounts are edited.
